Facebook NPE Team launched new calling app CatchUp

Facebook’s NPE team launched new calling app called CatchUp. According to Facebook, CatchUp helps you to stay in touch with the people you care about by showing when your friends and family are available to talk.

The uniqueness about this app is, it will show the list of users who available to talk. In this app also provides group calls feature, where it is easy to create and join group calls.

CatchUp App

This app is meant for only audio calling. To use this app you won’t need a Facebook account. It works by syncing contacts in device. In this app user need to update their status as they are “Ready to Talk” or “Offline” by tapping a button at top right corner of the app.

As of now facebook is testing this app in United Staes for limited time on both Android and iOS platforms.

The main aim behind this ideas is ” People don’t call friends and family more frequently is that they don’t know when they are available to talk or are worried they may reach them at an inconvenient time. CatchUp addresses this problem, and even makes group calling as easy as one tap. “
