Microsoft announced its very own antivirus Microsoft Defender ATP is now available for Android platform. It is now available as preview.
According to official blog post, Microsoft Defender ATP for Android is capable of protecting from phishing links, blocking unsafe content on Web, Malware scanning, blocking access to sensitive data and much more.
Here are the overview of the features in Microsoft Defender ATP for Android.
- Anti-Phishing: It blocks access to unsafe websites from email, browsers, WhatsApp, SMS and other apps.
- Blocking Unsafe content: It blocks unsafe content while you are browsing.
- Custom Indicators: It is additional layer of filtering and blocking where security teams can fine grain blocking and allowing of URLs.
- Malware Scanning: It instantly detects malware and potentially unwanted applications. It also displays a notification when a new app is installed and it’s safe to use or not.
- Blocking Access to sensitive data: When a device is compromised, it blocks access to sensitive data like Outlook mail. It provides enterprise devices a wide security layer to protect data.
Microsoft Defender ATP for Android uses Microsoft Defender SmartScreen technology to block accessing unsafe content.
