WhatsApp rolling out a feature to add new contacts using QR codes

WhatsApp is introducing a new feature to add new contacts using QR codes. As per WABetaInfo feature is now available with the latest beta version for both Android and iOS.

This feature lets the users to share and scan QR codes. This feature is available in Settings tab. In settings tab you can view QR code option. By clicking QR code option, you will get two tabs i.e, Scan Code and My Code.

In MyCode tab you will see your QR to share others. By considering privacy issues WhatsApp is allowing to reset QR code unlimited times. In Scan Code tab you will able to scan the QR code of others and add them to your contacts.

For Android Beta Testers, this feature is now available through server side beta update with version v2.20.171. If you are registered for server side beta testing, by this time you will find this option. If you are a normal beta tester, this update is not available in Google Play Store yet, you will get this update in few days.

For iOS Beta Testers, it is officially rolling out for all iOS beta testers. If you are official iOS beta tester on TestFlight, you may have already access to this feature.
