Google resumes more privacy-friendly same-site cookie update in Chrome. Recently in an announcement on Thursday, Google announced it will resume the same-site cookie update and it will available on July 14 with Chrome 84 update.

Rolling out this same-site cookie update will block the third-party cookies to load while accessing a website. Same-site cookie update may break some websites as they are using cookies for logins, and some other features to work.

In this update, the browser will block third-party cookies when same-site is flagged with privacy. This will helps to limit the cookies to collect data across the site. Already Safari and Firefox browsers block third-party cookies by default.

Earlier this year in February, Google launched this update with the release of Chrome 80. As this update may break some services and considering the COVID-19 situation, Google paused this update in April 2020 to resume in this summer.
