Tinder is testing in-app video chat feature called Face to Face. Tinder is adding this feature due to people prefer to talk before they get into dating as per their conducted survey.
Tinder Face to Face feature is rolled to some users in US, Brazil, Australia, Spain, Italy, France, Vietnam, Indonesia, Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Peru and Chile as part of testing.
The chat feature looks something similar to Instagram chat. While the video chat is very much different from other video chat apps. This video chat feature will have video frames one above other in 50:50 ratio as below renders.
Tinder Face to Face feature can be enable with a toggle. To use this feature the user must agree to ground rules of tinder.
Face to Face feature comes with improved privacy as it will available only when both parties match. Users can able to report the video chat. At any time user is free to disable the video chat feature by just disabling toggle.
At the end of the video chat, a survey of video chat quality will appears. This feature is now available for some user group of selective countries.
